The Local Organising Committee (Germany - BKMF), in cooperation with International Dwarf Sports Federation, would like to invite you to the 8th World Dwarf Games from the 28th of July until the 5th of August at the German Sports University in Cologne, Germany. Germany (BKMF) is proud to host this prestigious event that will help develop the legacy of the games and further develop our athlete's experience at international level. We are honoured to host the 8th edition of the games in Germany, where we are sure your athletes' will experience our incredible hospitality and create further history for dwarf athletes.
PRESS RELEASES
The World Dwarf Games are the largest international sporting event held exclusively for athletes with dwarfism. Its goal is to attract athletes with dwarfism from around the world to participate in sports that include basketball, soccer, track and field, volleyball, swimming, table tennis, badminton, floor hockey, boccia, archery, kurling, powerlifting and marksmanship. Athletes of all ages and every level of ability will be encouraged to participate in team and individual sports and explore their own athletic abilities with others of similar stature. Participants also participate in special events to celebrate international understanding, promote awareness of the dwarf experience worldwide, provide on-site clinics for athletes and sports professionals and introduce participants to elite athletes with dwarfism, many of whom have participated in international competitions such as the Parapan Am Games and Paralympics. The aim is to provide the participants, their families and supporters, a welcoming and supportive environment for excellent sport competition while providing opportunities for forging lifelong friendships.
